When you use Skye, we may collect:
- Account information: Email address, name (if provided), and password when you create an account
- Conversations with Skye: The trips you ask about and what you tell Skye, so she can find flights and, on Pro, remember your trips and preferences
- Booking details: Traveler names and contact details you provide to complete a booking, and the trips you book
- Preferences: Home airport, preferred currency, airline preferences, and notification settings
- Device information: Browser type, device type, and approximate location for currency detection
- Activity profile: A summary of your preferences (preferred airlines, destinations, trip length) built from your activity, to personalize recommendations
- A non-identifying version of your address: Used to prevent fraud and duplicate activity. We do not store your raw IP address
2. How We Use Your Data
- Help Skye find your flights: Your home airport and the trips you ask about help Skye surface the right flights faster
- Personalize your recommendations: Skye builds a private travel profile from your activity and trip details, including things you tell her in conversation (interests, travel style, constraints) and details like your typical party size, age range, and nationality, to tailor suggestions to you. It is used only to improve your experience, is never sold, and you can view or delete it anytime from your profile
- Remember your trips (Pro): On Pro, we keep your past conversations so Skye can pick up where you left off. On Free, each chat starts fresh
- Daily deal emails: If you opt in, we send daily emails with the best deals from your home airport
- Price alerts: We notify you when prices drop on routes you're watching
- Improve the product: Anonymous usage data helps us understand what works and what to build next
3. Cookies & Analytics
We use privacy-friendly analytics to understand how people use Skye, collecting anonymous data like page views, session length, and device type. We use a secure login cookie to keep you signed in, which expires after 30 days, and we store your currency preference. Your activity is logged to improve recommendations, tied to your account if you're signed in, or anonymized if not. We do not use advertising cookies or sell your data to advertisers.
4. Third Parties
Your flights are booked directly on Skye. We issue your ticket through our booking provider (Duffel) with the airline, and your payment is handled by our payment provider (Razorpay). We never redirect you to a third-party travel site to book; your trip is booked and managed entirely on Skye.
- Airlines and Duffel (our booking provider): Receive the traveler and trip details needed to issue and service your ticket
- Razorpay (our payment provider): Processes your payment securely; we never store your card details
We share only what's necessary to complete and manage your booking, and never your account data or conversation history beyond that.
5. Payments
Subscription and booking payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not store your card or bank details. Razorpay handles all payment information securely under their own privacy policy and security standards.
6. Data Retention
- Account data: Retained as long as your account is active
- Conversation history: Retained while your account is active so Skye can remember your trips on Pro; removed when you delete your account
- Activity data: Retained for up to 90 days for analytics, then deleted automatically
- Activity summary: Retained as long as your account exists. Deleted when you delete your account
- Price history data: Retained for 30 days for route statistics, then aggregated
- Deleted accounts: All personal data is removed within 30 days of account deletion
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data: View all data we hold about you from your profile page
- Delete your account: Permanently remove your account and all associated data
- Opt out of emails: Unsubscribe from daily deals and marketing emails at any time
- Export your data: Request a copy of your data by contacting us
8. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections, secure sign-in, and access controls. However, no system is 100% secure. If you discover a security issue, please report it to us immediately.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email. Continued use of Skye after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
